向善不容易：损益交换与道德治理的社会学分析

公共道德宣传中的泛化劝善，常以“价值无涉”的面目动员社会互助，却在资源位差、信息黑箱与舆论同侪压力下，异化为道德绑架、善意透支与社会信任的隐性衰减。本文以“损益交换”为分析主线，将向善行为嵌入“目标—途径—代价”的三层解析结构：私善（生存稳态与自我认同）构成行动者的基础性目标函数；公善与公恶构成实现该目标的异质性途径；私恶则指行动过程中承载的物质耗散、时间占挤与情绪折损。理论推演与典型案例互证表明，可持续向善必须同时满足资源承载力边界与需求真实性边界，且以彻底的自愿原则为逻辑起点。据此，公共道德治理宜从“无差别道德感召”转向“边界化、信号化、制度化”的精准互助范式。【新增】本文进一步提出，善意治理的最终目标不是削弱道德要求，而是通过保护善意使其可持续再生产——真正的成熟道德治理，不是不断索取善意，而是保护、培育并使善意能够循环再生

Abstract

The generalized exhortation to goodness in public moral campaigns often mobilizes social mutual aid under the guise of "value neutrality," yet under resource differentials, information black boxes, and peer pressure in public opinion, it degenerates into moral coercion, overdraft of goodwill, and the hidden erosion of social trust. Taking "exchange of gains and losses" as its analytical thread, this paper embeds good-doing behavior into a three-layer analytical structure of "goals, means, and costs": private good (survival homeostasis and self-identity) constitutes the actor's basic objective function; public good and public evil constitute the heterogeneous means of achieving that goal; private evil refers to the material dissipation, time occupation, and emotional wear borne in the course of action. The mutual confirmation of theoretical deduction and typical cases shows that sustainable good-doing must simultaneously satisfy the boundary of resource carrying capacity and the boundary of the authenticity of needs, and take complete voluntariness as its logical starting point. Accordingly, the governance of public morality should shift from "undifferentiated moral appeal" to a precise mutual-aid paradigm that is "bounded, signal-based, and institutionalized." [Addition] This paper further proposes that the ultimate goal of goodwill governance is not to weaken moral demands, but to make goodwill sustainably reproducible by protecting it: truly mature moral governance does not endlessly demand goodwill, but protects, cultivates, and enables goodwill to circulate and regenerate.
